Domestic. The Liberals state that none of their members defied the party line in the matter of appointing Julia Kronlid (SD) as second deputy speaker.

In the first, closed, vote in the Riksdag today, Julia Kronlid did not get enough votes to be elected.

This despite the Moderates, Sweden Democrats, Christian Democrats and Liberals agreeing about voting for the SD woman.

Since the voting took place with anonymous slips, it is not possible to know what happened. But suspicions have been expressed that it was L members who wanted to show their displeasure with the party leadership's collusion with SD in this way.

That this would have happened, however, is rejected by L's group leader Mats Persson.

– I can't explain it, no one can, he told SVT after the first vote.

He continues:

– The members of the Liberals' parliamentary group are experienced and responsible and know that in this type of vote we vote in accordance with what we have taken in hand, says Mats Persson.

Julia Kronlid was finally elected second deputy speaker in the second vote in the chamber.
