Foreign. It became really embarrassing when US President Joe Biden, during a speech today, started asking if Congresswoman Jackie Walorski – who died in a high-profile car accident in August – was in the room.

– Jackie, are you here? Where is Jackie? muttered a visibly confused Biden as he delivered his opening speech at the White House conference on hunger.

The 79-year-old president looked out into the audience and continued:

– She was supposed to be here.< /p>

Jackie Walorski, to whom Biden was referring, was a member of the House of Representatives and the initiator of the conference. However, she died in a car accident in August, something that received a lot of attention.

In connection with Walorski's death, Joe Biden sent condolences to her family and expressed his appreciation for her political work.

In addition, the White House raised flags at half-mast in honor of the deceased congresswoman.

So all this happened last month.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre received a question later on Wednesday about Biden's blunder at a press conference. Her explanation was that the president was filled with thoughts of the deceased and that this is the kind of thing that happens.

– I think about John Lennon every day but I don't go around looking for him, however objected one of the reporters on the ground.
