Foreign. After the Ukrainian successes in Donbass, Russian President Vladimir Putin is now ordering a partial general mobilization in Russia, reports Reuters.

The mobilization will begin immediately, says Putin in a televised address.
– The West wants to destroy our country, he says and continues:
– It is about to protect Russian territory.
Yesterday it became clear that Russia is planning referendums of the type held in Crimea to annex the occupied territories of Donbass.
Russian citizens who are currently in the reserve is covered by today's mobilization. Above all, it is about people who have served in the army, have “certain military specialties” and relevant experience, according to the president.
The Russian Ministry of Defense states that these are 300,000 people.
Putin's speech was to have been given on Tuesday but was instead broadcast early on Wednesday.
