One of the currently fastest SSDs now also offers the largest storage space in its class. The Corsair MP600 Pro XT (test) with Phison E18 controller gets another model with 8 TB of storage space. This corresponds to the current maximum in the M.2 format.

Dealer comes before Corsair

Corsair has not even presented the MP600 Pro XT with 8 TB with the identifier CSSD-F8000GBMP600PXT. But the retailer Proshop is already offering them for sale. At 1,400 euros, the price is unsurprisingly very high. In relation to the storage volume, the costs are not that high, at least if you compare the official prices at Corsair: Corsair charges almost 745 euros for the 4 TB version. In free trade, however, the prices are far lower.

Performance data below the 4 TB version

< p class="p text-width">If the key data provided by the retailer is correct, the performance of the 8 TB version is slightly lower than that of the previous 4 TB flagship. With sequential reading, the maximum is 7,000 MB/s instead of 7,100 MB/s. In sequential writing, it's “only” 6,000 MB/s instead of 6,800 MB/s. The maximum IOPS for random reading are also marginally lower at allegedly 950,000. However, 1.2 million IOPS are also mentioned for random writing. The massive cooler is apparently unchanged.

Currently the only 8TB SSD with NVMe in M.2 format

Remarkable is the 8 TB SSD, because it is currently the only M.2 PCIe SSD with this storage volume in the ComputerBase price comparison.

In the variant with 2 TB, the Corsair MP600 Pro XT is one of the fastest SSDs in the ComputerBase test field.
