Lenovo Glasses T1

Lenovo thinks AR glasses are ready for the masses and is releasing these glasses to a wide audience. The design is quite simple: black glasses with special lenses, which serve as a kind of personal mobile screen. The T1 only works when it's connected to a device such as an iPhone. Of course, Lenovo has to deal with limitations set by Apple, while Apple itself can go all out with functions that affect the operating system more deeply.

The glasses will cost less than $500 and for that price you should not expect impressive hardware. The two micro-OLED screens have a resolution of 1080p that allows you to watch Full HD content at a frame rate of 60Hz. To prevent eyestrain, the glasses reduce any flicker and blue light at lower frequencies. It actually works fine, as long as you don't set too high standards, reports Ars Technica. They could already try a prototype and noticed that the colors are clear, that the texts are easy to read and the brightness of the screen is very acceptable. Operating the glasses is sometimes a bit inconvenient, because you have to do this via another device.

The Lenovo glasses are therefore completely dependent on the external device and have no built-in processor. This is done to keep costs down. There are speakers in it.

You can connect with a USB-C cable, where a special adapter for the iPhone will be available. The idea behind these glasses is that you can watch a movie or play a game and be completely absorbed in the image. The glasses will be available in China this year and will also be available in other countries from 2023.

In the meantime, we're waiting for Apple's AR/VR glasses, which are expected to initially cost around $3,000 and be available to the public in January. Then cheaper versions follow. If you want to see unpolished photos of these glasses, it's best to have a look here.
