macOS Monterey 12.5.1 now available for download: fixes security vulnerability

macOS Monterey 12.5.1 available

At the same time as iOS 15.6.1 and iPadOS 15.6.1, Apple has also released an update for the Mac. In both cases, these are important security updates and the updates are recommended for all users (if your device is suitable). For the Mac, it is therefore macOS Monterey 12.5.1. What security vulnerability is involved?

Apple's page states that there are two security vulnerabilities: in WebKit and in the kernel. In both cases, malicious code could be placed on the Mac, for example via a rogue website. Apple says it is aware that this vulnerability may have been actively exploited. If you want to keep your Mac as secure as possible, Apple recommends updating as soon as possible. You download macOS Monterey 12.5.1 from System Preferences, just like with iOS. You therefore download this update as follows:

1. Go to System Preferences.
2. Click Software Update.
