Lenovo ThinkStation P358: Ryzen Pro 5000 with up to 12 cores in the workstation

Almost a year and a half after the Ryzen 5000 Pro in the notebook, which are designed as Cezanne APUs with Zen 3 architecture and a TDP of 15 watts, the desktops aimed at companies are now also celebrating CPUs from the Enterprise series make their debut in the Lenovo ThinkStation P358 and offer up to twelve Zen 3 cores.

The new ThinkStation P358 with Ryzen Pro 5000 appeared for the first time in Lenovo's official product database and can now also be found in various online shops such as the My Campus Store. As a professional counterpart for the workstation to Ryzen 5000 (test) in the desktop, the four Ryzen Pro 5000 SKUs rely on a Vermeer die with up to 12 cores and 24 threads and a configurable power loss (“cTDP”) of up to 65 watts .

The Ryzen 9 Pro 5945, Ryzen 7 Pro 5845 and Ryzen 5 Pro 5645 are thus close relatives of the Ryzen 9 5900X, Ryzen 7 5800X and the Ryzen 5 5600X, although the TDP of the Ryzen 9 and the Ryzen 7 is significantly higher at 105 watts, only with Ryzen 5 is there a tie. This also applies to the clock, which is significantly lower with Ryzen 9 Pro and Ryzen 7 Pro, especially in multi-core operation.

The two large Pro models are coming with the Eco configuration that can be activated via Ryzen Master for the desktop CPUs, which includes 65 watts TDP and 88 watts PPT (maximum permissible consumption). The Zen 3 CPUs are paired with the following hardware in the Lenovo ThinkStation P358.

Wi-Fi 6 with 2×2 MO-MIMO and Bluetooth 5.2 as well as 2× GbE and a 3-in-1 card reader are also offered. HDMI 2.0a and DisplayPort 1.4a are also on board and handle the image output.

Windows 11 Home, Windows 11 Pro, Ubuntu and Red Hat Enterprise Linux are available as operating systems.

As an entry-level configuration, Lenovo continues to offer the ThinkStation P358 with an AMD Ryzen Pro 4350G, a “Renoir” type desktop APU with 4 cores and 8 threads, and a Vega6 iGPU 6 compute units and 384 shaders.
