Once more exclusively for the Chinese market, MSI presents the Arc A380 Hero with only 172 × 75 × 38 mm in low profile, which like the Gunnir Arc A380 (test) as well as the ASRock Arc A380 Challenger in Mini-ITX format is based on the smaller of the two Alchemist GPUs, the Intel ACM-G11 with 1,024 shader units.

Aside from the particularly compact, low-profile format with a height of only one slot, the MSI Arc A380 Hero, which the manufacturer presented on the Chinese online trading platform JD.com, already offers well-known ingredients.

The specifications are thus similar to the Gunnir Arc A380 and ASRock Arc A380 Challenger and read as follows:

MSI Arc A380 Challenger

  • Intel Xe HPG (“Alchemist”)
  • Low profile with 172 × 75 × 38 mm
  • ACM-G11 with 1,024 shader units
  • 6 GB GDDR6 @ 15.5 Gbps @ 96-bit
  • 4.8 TFLOPS computing power
  • 1× HDMI, 1× DisplayPort
  • 75 Watt TDP/TBP

The MSI Arc A380 Hero is offered through the MSI shop on JD.com in combination with three different pre-builds, which can optionally be upgraded to a somewhat dated Intel Core i3-10105F quad-core from the Comet Lake CPU family. Set S Refresh, the Intel Core i5-10400F (test) or the current Intel Core i5-12400F (test).

The three combinations of CPU, graphics card and mainboard together with 16 gigabyte DDR4-3200 and 512 gigabyte M.2 SSD from ADATA at prices of the equivalent of 530 to 650 US dollars.

The MRSP of the MSI Arc A380 Hero should be around 125 to 150 US dollars.
