The monthly photo competition of the ComputerBase community is entering the next round. In August 2022, recordings on the theme “Sunset & Sunrise” searched; As usual, images can be submitted up to the 20th day of the month.

Images of the rising or setting sun

Last July, community member Das MatZe took first place out of 15 submissions. His pull-along image of a racing car at night garnered 18.9 percent of the votes. As usual, he was entitled to set the thematic framework for the following month – and after “long pondering” the decision was made on “Sunset & sunrise”. This is not necessarily original, but has never happened in the history of CB photo competitions.

Accordingly, all community members are requested to send a picture of a sunset or sunrise by e-mail along with their own user name in the ComputerBase forum to the initiator tHe_nICKEL by August 20th. The MatZe would like photos that capture the special light moods of the blue or golden hour.

Everyone has photographed a beautiful sunset or sunrise. Not infrequently with a very special atmosphere that is difficult to capture in a photo. So give me the pictures in warm tones.

Conditions of participation and vote

Each registered community member is allowed to take part with a specially taken picture of any age, which, however, has not yet been submitted to a previous photo competition or published in any other way in the ComputerBase forum. Collages made up of a maximum of four individual recordings are also permitted; however, drawings, painted images or renderings are not permitted. Das MatZe has not specified any restrictions with regard to HDR settings and post-processing.

On August 21st, an initially anonymous vote will start among all community members for the first 40 submitted images – the forum software does not allow more elements in a poll. In order to protect the anonymity of the participants, the photos will be reduced to a maximum of 2,560 pixels in height and width and the EXIF data will be removed if necessary. The winner, who will be determined on August 30th, will again decide on the monthly theme for the next round.
