During a conference call with investors to announce the latest quarterly results, AMD announced the release of the upcoming Ryzen 7000 series (“Raphael”) desktop processors based on Zen 4 and the new AM5 Platform with DDR5 and PCIe 5.0 still confirmed for the current third quarter of this year.

Ryzen 7000 will be released this quarter

AMD CEO Dr. Lisa Su promised a release of the Ryzen 7000 CPUs manufactured in 5 nm at TSMC “later this quarter” and once again underlined the primary application areas of the Zen 4 processors: “Gaming” and “Content Creation”, as Tom' s hardware first reported.

Looking ahead, we're on track to launch our all-new 5nm Ryzen 7000 desktop processors and AM5 platforms later this quarter with leadership performance in gaming and content creation.

AMD CEO, Dr. Lisa Su

This means that the Ryzen 7000 will be released no later than September 30, which is the end of the third quarter of 2022.

Radeon RX 7000 with RDNA 3 later in the year

During the conference call, Lisa Su also commented on the release of the upcoming Radeon RX 7000 series based on the RDNA 3 architecture, which is scheduled to appear “later” this year. AMD sees the GPU area in general in a difficult phase in the 3rd quarter.

While we expect the gaming graphics market to be down in the third quarter, we remain focused on executing our GPU roadmap, including launching our high-end RDNA 3 GPU later this year. Lisa Su
