RealTime Warriors used to create animations and cinematics for titles like Chernobylite, Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3: Wildhunt. Now the developers from Warsaw are trying their own game with the Unreal Engine 5 and have founded the Dark Passenger studio for this purpose.

PvP and PvE in feudal Japan

An online multiplayer game in first-person perspective is planned, which will feature PvP and PvE elements and will be set in feudal Japan. There, as shinobi and kunoichi warriors, male and female ninja are called, to take up the fight against the growing armies of an unnamed usurper who has usurped the rule of the previous shogun by force.

We are building an immersive, dark world filled with mystery, extraordinary characters, and tense conflict that will consume the land of cherry blossoms.< /p>

“In order to find out the origin and motives of the attacker, the secret houses of the Assassins send their warriors to find the artifacts of his allegiance that conceal extraordinary power,” reads the description of the mythical story.

The PvP element explains that players should also encounter other assassins who are looking for the same things.

Ninjas as we know them

The description of the still nameless game reads almost like a screenplay for a ninja movie. Always intent on secrecy, the characters jump and climb over roofs and pagodas or sneak through the old temple complexes. Crazy stunts like running on arrows fired by other players or using a spear as a jumping stick are also planned. Katana, shuriken, tanto and wakizashi should not be missing from the arsenal of weapons. The close combat should require skill and tactics as well as close cooperation with the co-op competitors.

“Procedural solutions” are intended to provide dynamics, which are not yet explained in detail, but change the course of the game and force players to constantly adapt their tactics.

RPG elements are also provided, with opportunities for character customization, equipment and weapon modification. There should also be a separate dōjō for fighting exercises with friends.

There is neither a name nor a date yet

The homepage of the independent studio Dark Passenger holds no name for the project yet. Likewise, there is no official timeframe for the release of the game yet.

PC Gamer reports that Jakub Ben and Marcin Michalski, both formerly at CD Projekt and working on the hit role-playing game The Witcher 3: Wildhunt (test) were among the founders of the new studio.

The nameless project is just one of many that have been created using the new Unreal Engine 5 from Epic Games will be created and will be added to the list of announced UE5 titles shortly:
