In July 2022 , the Italian auto market contains losses, showing some “signs of recovery” probably thanks to the effects of the incentives in the 61-135 g/km of CO2 range. In fact, the month closes just below parity; with a -0.8% compared to the same month of 2021. Overall, as reported by UNRAE, 109,850 registrations were registered against 110,514 units & agrave; last year. It is worth noting, however, that the July 2021 figure was already; 19.2% lower than that of 2020 and 27.9% compared to 2019.

Despite the month of July 2022 close almost on a par, the data on the first 7 months of the # 39; year & egrave; strongly negative (793,856 registrations) with a drop of 20.3% compared to 2021 and 35.8% compared to 2019.

UNRAE highlights that the use of incentives for the 0-20 brackets continues slowly and 21-60 g/km of CO2. At this rate, the association calculates a lack of use of funds of 62% for the plus group & # 768; low emissions and 82% for the 21-60 g/km range. In total, over € 300 million would remain unused.

This slow trend depends, according to the association, both on the reduction of the maximum cost limit of the cars for access to incentives and above all on the exclusion of companies and rentals. For this reason, UNRAE closes to the Government the corrective measures to be introduced within the Aid 2 decree. Michele Crisci , president of UNRAE, commented on incentives:

In the first half of 2022, 51% of cars with very low and low emissions up to 60 g/km were purchased by renters, entities and companies, channels that cover 32% of the total car market: clear proof that l & rsquo; inclusion of legal entities among the beneficiaries of the incentives and & # 768; indispensable to relaunch the energy transition underway in a broad and effective way.

In the alternative and & # 768; at least it is necessary to extend the incentives to private individuals who use long-term rental, a category of consumers excluded for no reason, by implementing unjustified discrimination against them, operated on the basis of the & # 768; supply of the car.

Also on the subject of transition and & # 768; it is our duty to continue to insist on accelerating the country's infrastructure. An accurate time schedule is now urgently needed with times, places, types of columns to be installed and a clear indication of the parties in charge of making the investments. And measures are needed to encourage the spread of private charging infrastructures.
