With the Aurora Collection, Logitech is introducing a combination of keyboard, mouse and headset that is also intended to appeal to gamers who don't follow the typical cliché: instead of the ubiquitous black finish and aggressive shapes, a soft pink has moved in soft contours. A Yeti microphone completes the set.

A shallow pink for inclusion

Logitech thinks the gaming industry is too homogeneous in terms of looks. Products that are mostly tailored to the visual tastes of young males do not reflect the “wide range of gamers”, the manufacturer continues – and wants to change the status quo with a deliberately gender-neutral design of the G715 keyboard, G705 mouse and G735 headset : “women first, but gender inclusive” is the motto. The focus is on “comfort, accessibility and joy of playing”, which is “more important than competition and winning”.

Trolls are real, gender discrimination is apparent and most gear is designed for a stereotypical type of performance-driven gamer. For us to deliver on Logitech G's commitment – Advancing Play For All – we need to acknowledge the changing faces of our community, we need to rethink our design practices and reimagine our product experiences.

Logitech

< p class="p text-width">These are bold words for a manufacturer that advertises the vast majority of input devices in its own product range with competitive advantages and higher performance. Alternative pink colors are not necessarily something new, Razer, for example, offers a whole range of input devices as a Mercury Edition in soft pink and Logitech also has corresponding models, for example with a pink G Pro X Superlight or the Pop Keys keyboard (test). Offer. Several input devices were also dedicated to the female K-Pop group K/DA as part of a League of Legends collection.

Mouse, keyboard and headset make up the Aurora Collection

Technically, meanwhile, there are hardly any innovations to the already available Logitech models. The G705 appears particularly pale: At 85 grams, the 2.4 GHz wireless mouse is not particularly light for its small size and offers an unspecified sensor in “gaming quality”, three additional buttons and RGB lighting at the rear. The recommended retail price of around 100 euros seems inappropriate – even the top model G Pro X Superlight (test) is now available in retail for this price, albeit in black.

The TKL keyboard G715, which is also wireless, as well as the wired counterpart G713, in turn have 87 mechanical GX switches in either linear, tactile or clicking design and dedicated media keys as well as a volume wheel. PBT keycaps as well as the detachable USB-C cable of the wireless variant are details to be emphasized, and there is also the obligatory RGB lighting. With “low-key vibes”, the keyboards cost around 200 and around 170 euros according to the RRP. A palm rest in the shape of a cloud is included.

The third Aurora product is the wireless gaming headset G735, which is also expensive with a recommended retail price of around 230 euros. Apart from “ethereal RGB lighting”, the model with the voice modulation function offered for the first time by Logitech – examples are “DJ Robot ” or “Helium Chipmunk” – and a detachable microphone convince. The G735 only achieves a battery life of 56 hours without lighting, with maximum RGB brightness it is only 16 hours. According to Logitech, the bracket and the ear pads should be particularly suitable for smaller heads and users with glasses or earrings.

Accessories and a microphone

Said ear pads are white ex works, but like the microphone module, they can also be purchased separately in pink or light green. The same applies to the upper shell and the key caps of the keyboard. In addition, Logitech sells mouse pads in the colors mentioned, as well as a heart-shaped carrying case for the headset. See the chart below for US dollar pricing.
