IKEA Silver gloss for the bathroom

IKEA comes with three new series in different colors, which can also be added to HomeKit via the IKEA Tradfri bridge. Silvergloss consists of light strips that you can install in the bathroom in different lengths. Depending on the color of your bathroom furniture, you can choose white or anthracite. The strips themselves start at a length of 40 centimeters and cost €15.

If you buy a set with light bar, driver and remote control, you will lose around €60. Prices may vary by country. The LED strips are dimmable.

In order to use it, you still need to be able to hide the driver (€15) shown below. This also applies to the other lighting series that we discuss below. And of course you also have to find a way to bring the power wire to the right point.

Mittled for the kitchen

Mittled for the kitchen >

Mittled is a series of light strips and spots, made in white or aluminum. You can use it over the counter. A separate spot costs €12 and for a light strip you will lose at least €15. They should not be confused with the existing Mittled light strips with motion detector for drawers, as they are not compatible. The new products are identified by the red text ‘NEW’.

Skydrag for kitchen and wardrobe

If you are looking for something with a motion detector, then you are better off with Skydrag. These light strips are actually intended for the kitchen, but can also be used in other places. For example, to ensure that a light comes on automatically when you open your sock drawer. The motion detector is built-in, so that the lamp lights up immediately when you open a cabinet.

You can choose from black or white, in lengths between 40 cm and 80 cm. The price starts at €15 (in Germany the price is slightly lower). A complete set with light bar, driver and remote control costs around €50. Again, IKEA prices can vary greatly from country to country and so can availability.

There are many more LED strips with HomeKit, but they are usually flexible. These sticks from IKEA are less common. For the complete range, view our round-up of LED strips.
