The 25-minute Nintendo Direct Mini hinted at more updates and games coming to the Switch. Alongside already-playable titles like Persona 5 and NieR: Automata, the reveal will also announce the new Switch exclusive Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope.
Monster Hunter Rise continues over sea
The new Defender Weapon Tree and the Black Belt S armor set are available as free content for Monster Hunter Rise today. Sunbreak was introduced as a new expansion for the RPG game, and the DLC was announced two weeks ago in Capcom Showcase 2022 . Soon, on June 30th, 2022, the adventure will continue with expanded story, monsters, equipment and location. After the players saved Kamura from further misfortunes, they go overseas to the outpost Elgado. The three monsters Garangolm, Lunagaron and the dragon eldest Malzeno are said to live there. All monsters hide secrets that will be revealed one by one. The already playable demo should provide an insight into the new adventure.
As a free update in August, players can prepare to battle Bubbling Bazelguese and Moonlight Nargacuga. Nintendo's partner Capcom is also promising more free game content for autumn and winter 2022.
The adventure on Monkey Island continues
For fans of point-and-click adventures, Nintendo has a pleasantly surprising title: Return to Monkey Island. The pirate adventure finds its way to the Switch console as a sequel to its predecessors The Secret of the Monkey Island and Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge. The player has to solve puzzles as a pirate and explore the mysterious island. The pirate adventure is coming to Switch later this year.
Mario and Bowser fight against Cursa
The turn-based strategy game Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope, created in collaboration with Ubisoft, will soon be available exclusively on the Switch as the successor to Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle. Mario and his friends get help from Bowser and embark on a galactic adventure together.
The Cursa are trying to suck the energy out of the entire galaxy, snatching up Sparks – who find the origin from a fusion of Lumas and Rabbids – in order to drain the last of their energy as well. Using various weapons, Mario's team of three characters fight back the Cursa to free the Sparks. As a new feature, characters can now freely roam within train range as long as they have not yet used a weapon. The adventure is scheduled to be available for the Switch on October 20, 2022.

Persona 5 Royal and NieR: Automata will also be available for purchase as The End of YoRHa Edition for Nintendo handheld in October 2022. Sonic returns in Sonic Frontiers before Christmas.
