Steam is celebrating the start of summer with a two-day delay with this year's Summer Sale. As usual, towards the end of June the store offers two weeks full of discounts, new trading cards and this time even a quest and a trailer.
Two weeks of Steam 3000 summer promotion
The discount event has been running since yesterday evening at 7 p.m. as a Steam 3000 summer promotion. The summer sale runs from June 23 to July 7, 2022, store operator Valve promises “thousands of games on offer”. In two weeks it will also be over at 7 p.m. Central European Summer Time. In the first week, the promotion partially overlaps with the GOG Summer Sale, which started on June 6th and runs until June 27th, 2022.
Again, it cannot be assumed that all offers will be available from day one; instead, new discounts should be expected almost daily. For example, Rockstar Games' Open-world western Red Dead Redemption 2 (test) and From Software's action-adventure Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice at half the price of around 30 euros, as well as the Lego adventure game Star Wars: The Skywalker saga, which was released in April, with a 25 percent discount for almost 38 euros.
Also worth mentioning is the survival game Raft, which was rated “very positively”, which started in the Early Access program in May 2018 and was finally released on June 20, 2022. Now there is already a 15 percent discount. See the sale trailer for more reduced games.
Clorthax calls for guesswork
There is also a new trading card action with a quest in the store. In the free fun mini-game, a time-travelling con artist challenges users to go on a scavenger hunt for the “Top 10 Games of the Future.” Valve offers a reward for each title identified. As usual, the summer sale is accompanied by a lot of new cosmetic content, including, for example, background images for your own Steam profile or emotes for the Steam chat.
