AMD has released an exclusive graphics driver for Windows 7, which is intended in particular to fix problems with the AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT (test) and other “graphics products” from the manufacturer. The Enhanced Sync feature and the logging of performance metrics from RDNA and RDNA 2 GPUs also cause problems.
Graphic drivers for Windows 7 and RDNA 2
While the AMD graphics driver for Windows 10 and Windows 11 is still available in version 22.5.2, Windows 7 is already getting an updated version that has been added, especially with regard to hardware compatibility. In the past, RDNA 2 graphics cards such as the Radeon RX 6900 XT could not be installed at all. The AMD Adrenalin 22.6.1 WHQL now provides a remedy.
Windows 7 has not received support from Microsoft since January 14, 2020, but customers of the Extended Security Updates variant (ESU) will not meet the same fate until January 10, 2023.
In addition to the regular AMD Adrenalin 22.6.1 WQHL, which can also be found in the ComputerBase download area, AMD is also releasing an adapted version for the two entry-level graphics cards AMD Radeon RX 6400 and AMD Radeon RX 6500 (test) based on the smallest RDNA 2 GPU Navi 24.
Separate graphics driver for Navi 24
Unlike the regular driver for Windows 7, the new Navi-24 graphics driver is not certified by WHQL and is available for download separately:
- AMD Adrenalin 22.6 .1 for Navi 24 (.EXE)
For more information, see the official release notes.

The AMD Adrenalin 22.6.1 WHQL for Windows 7 and the Adrenalin 22.5.2 for Windows 10 and Windows 11 can be downloaded as usual from the ComputerBase download area directly below this message.
