Stellantis is not just investing in the electrification of its range of cars. The automotive group has made it known that it has chosen Valeo's third generation LiDAR which will be used on your cars starting in 2024 .
LEVEL 3 
According to Valeo, its third-generation LiDAR can; identify multiple objects than 150 meters away that n & eacute; the human eye, n & eacute; the cameras and n & eacute; radars can see. Such LiDAR & egrave; capable of reconstructing a 3D image environment with a resolution that is was defined by the company unprecedented in the auto industry. Valeo adds that its LiDAR features artificial intelligence-based software that it 'anticipates' the areas free from obstacles, allowing the car to steer and change trajectory. Thanks to LiDAR, future Stellantis cars will have Level 3 assisted driving (here we explain the Levels of autonomous driving). The economic terms of the deal were not mentioned. No details even on which models will be able to use this advanced ADAS system.
Finally, we recall that Stellantis had communicated during its Software Day that it was working on the STLA AutoDrive platform , in collaboration with BMW, which will allow & agrave; to offer vehicles capacity; of assisted driving of Level 2, Level 2+ and Level 3.
