Phanteks G360A: Reissue of the P360A improves airflow

Phantek's P360A is a tip in the budget segment. The new edition G360A is mainly dedicated to an improvement in the area of cooling performance. For this purpose, the number of installed and possible fans is increased. According to tests, the approach is bearing fruit.

The G360A is amazingly similar to its direct predecessor. A small retouch can be seen with a closer look: the mesh front now has the same U-shaped indentation as the P500A, for example, and thus fits in stylistically with the series of Phanteks cases of the recent past. Also new is an integrated aRGB controller, which controls the LEDs of the integrated light strip under the side window and the now three pre-installed aRGB PWM fans.

The main improvement lies in the fan configuration, which now allows a maximum of three fans on the front and under the lid instead of two each. This also makes it possible to install a 360 mm radiator. However, two heat exchangers of this format cannot be installed at the same time. Both changes increase the cooling capacity enormously when required; Here, too, the coming GPU generation seems to be casting its shadow. The chassis has always had enough space for large GPUs. No current graphics card comes close to exhausting a length of 400 millimeters.

Known layout

Otherwise, Phanteks leaves the G360A at the same level as the P model. Two 2.5″ trays are hidden behind the mainboard, the HDD cage still has two slots, but is only accessible from the right side of the case. There is space for long power supplies as well as most high-end coolers.

In white and black, the G360A currently costs around 100 euros, which is 20 euros more than its predecessor. Nevertheless, Toms Hardware considers this a good offer: In this version, too, the case delivers a lot of value for its price, especially in terms of cooling performance. KitGuru makes a similar statement. In both cases, the main criticism is the lack of a USB-C port.
