Orange Pi 800: Keyboard computer competes with the Raspberry Pi 400

The Orange Pi 800 is a keyboard-integrated single-board computer that rivals the Raspberry Pi 400. With a six-core SoC from Rockchip and 4 GB of LPDDR4, as well as numerous connections, the keyboard computer is aimed in particular at experienced hobbyists who want a compact mini-PC.

All-in-one keyboard uses ARM Cortex-A72

The all-in-one system is based on a Rockchip RK3399 with two ARM Cortex-A72 and four ARM Cortex-A53 with 1.8 and 1.4 GHz clock frequencies respectively. An ARM Mali-T860MP4 graphics processor with 4 compute units and 900 MHz takes care of the image output, which is optionally via a VGA connection or HDMI 2.0a.

A USB-C connection takes care of the power supply of the 385 gram light AiO keyboard , while a 3.5 mm jack connects headphones, microphones and headsets if required.

Gigabit LAN and WLAN according to IEEE 802.11b/g/n/ac with 2.4 and 5 GHz are also on board, as are two different operating systems. In addition to Chrome OS, the in-house Orange Pi OS based on Arch Linux is available. Both operating systems are supplied on a microSD card.

Soon for less than 100 euros

The Orange Pi 800 is scheduled to go on sale on Amazon and AliExpress in the next few days for less than 100 euros and will be available with different keyboard layouts. A 5V power adapter, a micro-HDMI cable and the official beginner's guide are also included.

The Raspberry Pi 400, which is the only direct competitor to the Orange The Pi 800 has been on the market since November 2020 and is currently being offered at prices starting at 79.90 euros.
