Hue Sync Box in normal Hue app

We wrote earlier that the separate Philips Hue Bluetooth app will disappear. Controlling the lamps via Bluetooth (for people who do not have a hub) has also been working from the standard Hue app for a few months now. Now another function is added: controlling the Hue Sync Box. This TV cabinet costs €250 and synchronizes the lamps with your home cinema. It is a solution for people who do not have an Ambilight TV, but are looking for approximately the same experience in terms of lighting effects.

You can connect up to 4 HDMI devices to the box and you can use the Hue Sync Box app to control the personalize experience. That will soon be possible via the normal Hue app, which you probably already had installed. It may already come with the next update of the Hue app.

In March it already leaked that Signify was working on an integration of the Sync Box and now the work seems to be almost finished. It does not mean that you have to switch abruptly. With the Bluetooth lamps it is still possible to control them with the Bluetooth app and that will probably also be the case with the Sync Box. In March, the Bluetooth app received another update. The Sync Box app will also be available for a while, but for new features you will have to switch to the normal app gradually.

The Hue Sync Box costs around 250 euros at most stores. You can contact Amac and Coolblue, among others.
