Mobilize , the Renault Group Business Unit that deals with mobility services; and energy, announced that it has collaborated with Morbihan & Eacute; nergies for the installation at the French island of Belle-Ile-en-Mer of a Microgrid consisting of a photovoltaic system with a power of 76 kWc and a 200 kWh energy storage system . The whole plant is automatically managed by an energy control system and & egrave; was installed at the & ldquo; VVF Club Intense & rdquo; tourist village.
THE PROJECT
The objective of this project carried out by Mobilize and Morbihan & Eacute; nergies & egrave; that of encouraging self-consumption of energy produced by the photovoltaic system to reduce the energy costs of the & ldquo; VVF Club Intense & rdquo; tourist village. The accumulation system & egrave; was installed during this month of May. Interesting appearance, & egrave; based on 10 second-life Renault Zoe batteries . Therefore, this project demonstrates once again how & egrave; possible extend the life of electric car batteries . If still in good condition, they can be further used in other areas, such as storage systems.
The 200 kWh storage system of this project will serve; to contain the surplus energy produced by the photovoltaic system. Energy that will serve to optimize the energy consumption of the tourist village and to recharge the electric vehicles of the customers of the structure.
Also, as part of this project, for 6 months it will be; tested a prototype of the Renault Zoe equipped with vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology .
The vehicle, which will be controlled by the smart management system of the microgrid, it will be able to store the energy and re-feed it into the local network in case of need. The goal of this test is study the contribution of reversible charging on a local electricity grid as a complement to the energy storage system, to maximize the use of the site's solar energy and limit the use of electricity of the main network.
The creation of this Microgrid is part of a pi & ugrave; large project by Morbihan & eacute; nergies with the aim of reducing the energy dependence of the Morbihan Department and facilitating adaptability; of the territory to seasonal tourism.
