Products with a CPU or APU from AMD are always dependent on modems from third-party companies to implement WLAN. As in the past, AMD will continue to cooperate with MediaTek on the desktop, but solutions from Qualcomm are again being considered for “professionals”.
Qualcomm's FastConnect 6900 is the current one Solution for Wi-Fi 6E, which will now be used in the first products from HP and Lenovo in the ThinkPad Z and HP EliteBook 805 series based on the AMD Ryzen Pro 6000. Qualcomm's collaboration with AMD is nothing new; many previous solutions used a Qualcomm modem from time to time.
