It's Sunday and that means Mark Gurman is releasing his weekly newsletter again. In it he writes this time what we can expect from iOS 16. Some apps will be revamped, Gurman says: “While I don't expect Apple to present a full software redesign, there should be major changes throughout the system, with new ways of interacting and some new Apple apps. The innovations in watchOS 9 will also be big.”

Still, most apps will still largely look like we are used to in iOS 15. It remains to be seen what those “big changes in the whole system” and “new ways of interacting” will look like. Big changes but with a familiar look, that's the best way to summarize the predictions.

A concept of iOS 16 with ‘conceived’ new features.

Gurman previously reported that a new notification system is coming to the Apple Watch and that there will be new health and fitness features in watchOS 9 and iOS 16. In addition, there are rumors of an improved power-saving mode, an extension of the function to detect atrial fibrillation, more workout types and running data.

In terms of iOS, Apple could enable interactive widgets in iOS 16, so they become mini apps. We have listed more expectations about iOS 16 for you.
