At the moment, by far the most users will see another list of conversations in order of activity. The conversation with the most recent message will appear at the top, regardless of whether you've already read it or not. For some WhatsApp Messenger users, it is now possible to sort by the following criteria:
- Unread conversations
- Contacts

- Groups

These chat filters were discovered by WABetaInfo. The website reports that it has been active for a small group of users since a beta update released two weeks ago. Users of WhatsApp Business, a separate app for business users, were already able to use chat filters.
It is not yet known when everyone can use the new filters. WhatsApp often rolls out functions gradually and, moreover, the function is still under development.
