Toyota Group had presented its electrification strategy in December, which foresees the launch of 30 electric models by 2030 Toyota and Lexus brands. On that occasion, a series of prototypes of the battery-powered cars that will be part of this ambitious plan were shown. The first series models were then officially announced. We think of the Toyota bZ4X and the Lexus RZ 450e. The goal of the car manufacturer is to cover every market segment with its future battery-powered vehicles.

Therefore, among the cars that will arrive, the manufacturer will certainly launch; on the market also a compact to compete with the likes of Volkswagen ID.3. This model could be called Toyota bZ3 . A render tries to imagine what this battery-powered car could be like.

INSPIRED BY CROSSOVER

The Toyota bZ3 is; a 5-door with a look inspired by that of crossovers. From a certain point of view it can & ograve; to be seen as a cross between the Corolla and the CH-R. The platform on which it will be born this car & egrave; always the e-TNGA on which & egrave; based not only the Toyota bZ4 but also the Lexus RZ 450e. A platform that, as we know, is; was expressly designed for electric cars. This means that the future bZ3 will be able to be equipped with both a single electric motor and a double engine. Therefore, it will be; you can also have four-wheel drive.

The eventual model with double electric motor could go to compete with the ID.3 GTX that will arrive; with the restyling of the German compact. Too early to talk about performance, of course. However, the current bZ4 can count on 160 kW in the double motor version. Therefore, if this powertrain were confirmed also for the bZ3, given the smaller dimensions, the performances would certainly be interesting. And even if the bZ3 were always equipped with the 71.4 kWh battery pack of the bZ4, the autonomy could reach over 500 km.

All that remains is to wait for news; directly from Toyota on the launch of its next 100% electric models. Among these there is also the bZ1, a small city crossover, a large SUV and a sports car. Overall, until 2030, the Toyota Group will invest; up to 8 trillion yen (about 58 billion euros) for all its projects. The half & agrave; this amount will be used for electric cars and batteries.
