iCulture App of the Month: Momently In Apple's Photos app, you can view retrospectives to relive special moments. You can also add a photo caption. Yet that always brings about the same emotions as what you would like. The Momently app aims to solve that problem. In this app you can also capture all kinds of special events with photos, captions, locations and people. In a collection you can see all your activities on a trip together.

One thing Apple's Photos app falls short of is profiles. In Momently you can create a profile for someone and see what you have experienced with this person. The app looks sleek and contains the right functions to at least give it a good chance. It costs a one-time fee of a few euros and contains no further advertising or in-app purchases. Your data will not be collected.

Gecko Hours

Anyone looking for a good time tracking app should give Gekko a try. This service can register not only hours, but also kilometers and costs. In addition, you can also easily send invoices that customers can pay via Mollie. Gekko Uren received a nice update this week. You can now sync your calendar from iCloud or Google. As a result, you no longer have to manually take over your hours, but Gekko does this automatically. The chance of errors is then a lot smaller.

ManGo

ManGo is an app to keep track of which anime's you watch and which manga's you read. You can check the rating for all kinds of anime's and manga's and see what it's about. Even if you don't know what to watch or read, ManGo is an option. The app was developed by Joost van den Akker (@joost_akker). The design of this app is simple and quickly feels familiar. If you use the app on your iPad, you get a nice view with clear sidebars. ManGo is free, but all features require a one-time purchase.

Vivid

Do you have a Pro Display XDR or the latest MacBook Pro with M1 Pro or M1 Max chip? Then you have a screen with a brightness of up to 1600 nits. However, this brightness is only activated when you play HDR content. By default, your Mac does not offer the option to always be at this brightness. With Vivid you can. This app is developed by Jordi Bruin (@jordibrown) and is simple to use. Do you use the function keys on your keyboard to scale up the brightness and reach 100%? Then Vivid turns on to give you even more steps.

You can try Vivid for free in split view mode. Here one half of your screen becomes bright and the other half is limited to the normal maximum brightness.
The developer has created a special discount code for iCulture. With code ICULTURE you get a 50% discount and you only pay €7.50 for the app. You can learn more about the app and buy a license from the developer's website.

Koi Farm

Looking for a relaxing game that you can play anytime? Then try the game Koi Farm. In this game you can breed koi fish to get the most beautiful variations. The aim is to breed as many variations as possible. Do you have a nice one? Then you can share it with other players. The Koi Handbook will help you find undiscovered species. The game already existed for Windows and Mac.

Volo

The Volo app for Apple Watch is made for the kite surfers among us. It was developed by Hidde van der Ploeg (@hiddevdploeg) and helps you gain insight into your sessions. You can see how fast you went, how many times you jumped and all kinds of more general information about calories burned and your heart rate. With the accompanying iPhone app you can view everything at a glance. Volo automatically creates a water seal on your Apple Watch, so the water can't press all kinds of buttons on the screen.

Does it sound interesting? Then we definitely recommend that you take a look at the developer's website. All functions are explained in detail here. Spoiler: This app offers almost everything for kite surfers. In a future update you will also be able to measure airtime and share your scores with others.

You can also see the steps of your journey, which is especially useful if you have to transfer. Soon the maker also wants to send notifications if you have to get out. Some of the features require a pro subscription.
