The temperature and app settings of the tado° smart heating system are linked to data from the electricity or gas meter and evaluated by the algorithms. The user must enter meter readings and tariffs in Energy IQ in order to be able to use the cost forecast. If the current meter reading is stored again and again over time, the function can better predict the actual consumption and the function becomes more accurate. The tado app then shows a cost forecast for the current month and comparison values.

In the future, Energy IQ will also make it possible to use the app to adjust temperatures and energy-saving functions down to the last detail so that the amount of heating costs corresponds to personal ideas and the desired level of comfort. In the app, users can then also activate and deactivate their desired settings and energy-saving functions such as geofencing and are immediately shown the corresponding effect on heating costs.
