Pilot an Airbus A320 from home in Microsoft Flight Simulator (test) above the clouds? The impressive home cockpit from the ComputerBase forum community shows how this is possible. This reader's article demonstrates what experienced captains can achieve in their own four walls.
Airbus A320 for home
In his reader's article, ComputerBase reader and community member “subsonic2020” presents the “A320 Home Cockpit” project, which is expected to make the heart of every virtual flight captain beat faster.
Skalarki controls are used with a so-called “Skalarki Profiler”, which works like a USB driver and forms the interface between Windows and the hardware, and simulates the real cockpit with joysticks and an original side stick of an A320.

After the author of the reader's article had previously used Prepare3D as a simulation platform and used the free JeeHell software for the flight model , the switch to ProSim-AR and the Microsoft Flight Simulator is currently taking place.

In his reader's article, the author documents the entire structure and development process of the ambitious project down to the last detail.

With the help of chipboard, an adapted shell was built, so it was also stylish Overhead control unit can be attached to the ceiling. Meanwhile, hydraulic damping provides the “real” feeling of flying.
And meanwhile I was able to get hold of an original sidestick from a real A320 on ebay in the USA, which can also be easily connected via a USB card to the PC can be connected and it already works.
Thanks to the hydraulic damping, it really feels like you're flying a real Airbus (at least that's how I imagine it😉 ).

Original sidestick as a replacement for a Hotas Warthog
Had in the readers' article of “subsonic2020”. a small error crept in, which was then adopted by the editors.
- The joysticks of the home cockpit are based on a Hotas Warthog and not on a Hotas Cougar.
- The original sidestick from an Airbus A320 was also used to replace one of the two Hotas Warthogs on the captain's side.
The editors would like to thank the community member “subsonic2020” for pointing out the sem update and the community for the great interest in this forum post.
