The Government is studying the introduction of new incentives to support the Italian automotive market. Yesterday we & egrave; held a first meeting attended by, among others, the Undersecretary to the Prime Minister Roberto Garofoli, the Minister of Economy Daniele Franco, the Minister for Ecological Transition Roberto Cingolani and that of Economic Development Giancarlo Giorgetti. The Government's goal is to develop a strategy, an organic plan , to support the automotive industry which is experiencing a difficult time. All in a period in which we are also discussing the great changes that electrification will bring; to this industry.

A meeting that & egrave; it was also a response to the many appeals that had come from the sector associations to find at the most; soon a strategy that also looked to the future. According to Il Sole 24 Ore, a real plan is not yet; been found. There will probably be & agrave; next week a new meeting to try to find an agreement and bring the news; already within the energy decree .

However, it will not be an easy path since there are still several points on which an agreement must be found.

NEW INCENTIVES

The introduction of new incentives is therefore also being discussed. According to what was reported, the MISE re-proposed its plan that had not passed when it was time to formalize the new Budget Law. There is now talk of a multi-year intervention with an annual endowment of over one billion euros of funds . However, we are far from the 3 billion euros per year we were talking about several months ago.

The idea of Minister Giorgetti would be that of keep the subdivision into three bands (with or without scrapping). The first would concern that of 100% electric cars, the second that of Plug-ins and then the third that of cars with emissions up to 135 g/km of CO2. 3/4 of the resources would be allocated to cars falling within the 0-60 g/km CO2 range, that is; the electric ones and the Plug-ins.

However, the Minister of Ecological Transition Roberto Cingolani it would aim to eliminate polluting cars as soon as possible, supporting the transition to hybrid and electric. All this while protecting the most important groups; weak with incentives to purchase and scrapping that take into account income .

C & # 39; & egrave; therefore the will & agrave; to arrive at an organic project to support the automotive sector but an agreement on the points still is; been found. Precisely for this reason there will be; at least one other meeting, as anticipated at the beginning. Times are tight and there is need to find an agreement quickly. We will not speak obviously only incentives but also all those measures that will serve to support the Italian automotive industry in the transition path towards electrification.

All that remains is to wait to understand how the Government will decide; really move.
