While some people feel that Apple should focus more on solving certain problems, Apple has still found some budget to add new emoji. While it's technically 112 emoji, there are 37 really new emoticons. The other 75 emoji are all kinds of new (combinations of) skin colors with existing images. The emoji search function makes it quicker to find them.

Apple adds new emoji every year to the huge collection out there. already was. Often there is little exciting, but every now and then a number of new emoji stand out as contenders to become popular again. We expect that a few emoji from this new batch will be used frequently. Think of a melting face, held up hand and biting a lip.

You can also find all kinds of skin colors in iOS 15.4. Apple now lets users choose which two skin tones to use with the “shake hands” emoji. It's the first time Apple has let you choose this way. Until now it was only possible to send both hands in the same skin color. At the moment this isn't in the beta of iOS 15.4, but we expect it in a later beta.
As always, there are also some new generic new emoji apart from the faces. In addition to a full battery, there is now also a symbol for an empty battery. If you are in a cast, you will soon be able to choose a crutch or an X-ray photo emoji. As far as nature is concerned, there is now a nest of one with no eggs to choose. Coral emoji and lily emoji are also available.
