In 2017, Adriaan de Jongh, a Dutch game developer, released the charming game Hidden Folks. Hidden Folks is, as the title says, a game in which you search for figures, objects and much more in a large puzzle. If you previously found the game too expensive and subscribed to Apple Arcade, there is now good news. Hidden Folks is available today on Apple Arcade, on almost all Apple devices.

Hidden Folks on Apple Arcade

Hidden Folks contains all kinds of areas: from cold snowy areas to hot dry deserts. In each area you have to look for several people, objects and other objects. Sometimes they are simply visible, but usually you have to do something more for them: open a door, slide a curtain aside, put a car aside or lift a stone. The nice thing is that the game is completely in black and white and that all sounds are recorded. From the beep voices of the dolls to the clicking sounds when you tap something.

There are areas large and small and before you know it you are looking for that one pair of glasses in that big factory for hours. The game is very easy to play and therefore very addictive. In total there are seven areas, each with several levels. Sometimes it's like looking for a needle in a haystack, but the accompanying funny hints tell you in which direction to look.

Hidden Folks is playable on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV. We think the game comes into its own best on large screens, especially if you are searching with several people. Also read our previous review of Hidden Folks from 2017.

The plus sign in the title of the Apple Arcade version says nothing about the content: it is identical to the separate paid version, the maker says. If you've played the paid version before, your saved files will be carried over to the Apple Arcade version. If you are not an Apple Arcade subscriber, the paid version is still available.
