Now that the release of the HomePod mini in the Netherlands is getting closer and closer, we are also paying more attention to software updates at iCulture. Because in addition to iOS, macOS and watchOS, Apple also regularly releases software updates for the HomePod and HomePod mini. Now we come to HomePod software update 15.3. But what has Apple improved in it?

HomePod software version 15.3 available

The update brings first of all improved performance and stability. The extent to which you will notice this in practice remains to be seen in the near future. Since version 15.2 of last December, Siri speaks Dutch on the HomePod and we have noticed that the margin of error with the Dutch version is somewhat larger than with the English one. Hopefully that will be improved in this version, before Apple officially releases the HomePod mini. That is expected sometime later this quarter.

In the release notes you can also read that from version 15.3 voice recognition up to six users will be available for users in Italy. in Italian and in India in English. Italian was added to the HomePod last September, so it eventually took about four months for voice recognition to become available. Voice recognition is not supported for Dutch and it is unknown when it will be added.
