As we have recently seen, in 2022 Lamborghini lancer & agrave; on the market the latest new models equipped with exclusively internal combustion engines. From 2023, however, it will begin & agrave; the electrification process of its range. CEO Stephan Winkelmann also spoke with Autocar about this plan. More interesting details emerged from this interview.

By 2025, we will only offer hybrid cars in our range. This serves to reduce CO2 emissions by at least 50%.

NEW HYBRID MODELS COMING SOON

Lamborghini's number one is not; concerned about the electrification process and how his company's customers will react.

For sure, they are ready for electrification because we have always said that we don't have to be the first, but when we come into play, we have to be the best, and that is; something we firmly believe will happen.

In 2025 , therefore, the entire range of Lamborghini will be & agrave; electrified but the Italian brand is not working on hybrid V6 as, instead, other car manufacturers have done, making it clear that there will be & agrave; still room for the V10 and V12 engines.

We are not planning a V6 engine. The V10 engines of the Hurac & aacute; n and the V12 of the Aventador are part of our heritage.

Coming to the roadmap of the new models, we will start & agrave; from the Aventador equipped with a Plug-in powertrain that will be marketed in 2023. In 2024 it will arrive; then the PHEV variant of the Urus SUV . In 2025, however, it will be; launched the Hurac & aacute; n hybrid . As for the 100% electric model , the CEO Lamborghini talks about a date around 2028 .

URUS, ALSO ELECTRIC IN THE FUTURE

Company CEO Stephan Winkelmann told Autocar that the Urus SUV will receive & agrave; an important restyling before the arrival of the Plug-in model. The restyling that should arrive during the year will bring the SUV to have more power. In addition, the manufacturer has worked to reduce the weight of this car which according to some rumors could be called the Urus EVO.

In 2024, the PHEV model will arrive, as previously mentioned. In the second half & agrave; of the decade, however, the SUV will become; also 100% electric . A model that will be completely new. Since the first electric is; expected for 2028, the electric Urus is expected to arrive later, perhaps in 2029. As for the Plug-in model, it & egrave; It is possible that Lamborghini uses an engine derived from that of the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid.
