Apple usually releases certain products at fixed periods and is therefore a fairly predictable company. In recent years, the iPad Pro has always been released in the spring, but in recent days there have been more and more reports that Apple is getting rid of this with the release of the iPad Pro 2022 this year. This may have to do with one of the improvements of the iPad Pro 2022.
Release iPad Pro 2022: when will the new model come?
Multiple sources have shared information about the possible release of the iPad Pro 2022 in recent days. For example, this model was in Mark Gurman's list of Apple's largest fall line-up to date and also rumored nice @DylanDKT says that the iPad Pro 2022 in the autumn is coming. This means that the iPad Pro 2022 is not expected in March or April, but in September or October, for example.
In these months, Apple has repeatedly announced the new iPad Pro in recent years:
- iPad Pro 2022: Fall (expected)
- iPad Pro 2021: April
- iPad Pro 2020: March
- iPad Pro 2018: October
- iPad Pro 2017: June
- iPad Pro 2015: September
The reason Apple opts for a fall release this time may have been do with the improvements. The new iPad Pro 2022 will probably get an M2 chip, the successor to the M1. This is the same chip that we also expect in the MacBook Air 2022. This new generation of Apple Silicon chip may not be finished yet, so a release in the spring is not possible. There are also rumors about wireless charging via MagSafe, but that Apple is still having problems with its development.
