Lots of Fall Announcements

We can expect not only the iPhone 14 this fall, but also Apple's largest product lineup in the company's history. That means: more new hardware products than ever. It can be read in Bloomberg's latest Power On newsletter. Mark Gurman says he's been told that Apple is saving a series of announcements for next fall. This includes a completely new MacBook Air and a new MacBook Pro.

This is the list that Gurman expects:

  • four new iPhones
  • renewed entry-level MacBook Pro
  • renewed MacBook Air
  • renewed iMac
  • new Mac Pro
  • renewed AirPods Pro
  • three Apple Watch models
  • cheap iPad
  • renewed iPad Pro

It is striking that the notorious AR glasses are still missing from this list. It remains to be seen whether Apple will announce this accessory in 2022, or move it to 2023 or later.

Gurman also reiterates his expectation that Apple will probably hold the first event of the year in March or April. One of the products we can expect there is the new iPhone SE. The iPad Pro 2022 won't arrive until later in the year. This would have to do with the many changes. We will probably get a new iPad Air in the spring and there would be plans to release the M1 Pro chip in another Mac model. This could be a high-end Mac mini or the large iMac.
