Domestic. Reported crimes of sexual harassment increased in 2021 to 11 percent compared to 2020. Reports of rape with women as victims increased by 12 percent during the same period, according to preliminary statistics from Brå.

A total of 11,000 cases of sexual harassment and 9,240 rapes were reported last year, according to statistics.
In the case of rape, the total increase is 4 percent, but the figure is reduced by reports of child rape decreased in 2021. Rape of women over the age of 18 increased by 12 percent to 5,250 reported crimes.
In 2021, a total of approximately 1.47 million crimes were reported, a decrease of 84,400 ( −5 percent), compared with the previous year. The categories that decreased the most were theft and assault crimes as well as fraud crimes.
The category of reported crimes that increased the most in number in 2021 was crimes against persons (+2 percent). The largest increase in this category concerned the types of crime of harassment against persons over the age of 18, as well as data breaches.
