Norway increasingly satisfied with immigration

Abroad. Nearly eight out of ten Norwegians now fully or partially agree with the statement “most immigrants enrich the cultural life in Norway”, according to the Norwegian Central Bureau of Statistics.

Only 4 percent completely reject the idea that immigration is culturally enriching. A figure that has fallen from 5 percent in 2012.

Eight out of ten Norwegians fully or partially agree with the statement that “most immigrants make a useful contribution to Norwegian working life”. Only 6 percent completely or partially reject that statement.

Only four percent of Norwegians fully agree with the statement that immigrants “are a source of insecurity in society”. A statement that, on the other hand, almost 70 percent completely or partially reject.

As many as 20 percent of Norwegians want to make it easier for asylum seekers to immigrate to Norway, while 16 percent believe that asylum migration should instead be made more difficult.
