Abroad. After Russia demanded that NATO stop its enlargement, the Christian Democrats now demand that Sweden join the US-led military alliance.

“We can not secure our security on our own in a situation where our borders and interests are threatened by military attack”, writes KD's party leader Ebba Busch and the defense policy spokesperson Mikael Oscarsson on DN Debatt. <./p>
The duo further claims that NATO is “the main guarantor of peace, security and military capability in our part of the world”.
They continue:
“A Swedish membership means that we can fully plan, synchronize and practice together with our neighbors. Only then can we create the ability required to deter a military attack. “
KD also wants to see several major investments in the Swedish defense.
