Cadillac unveiled the new InnerSpace concept car at CES 2022 in Las Vegas joins the other prototypes in the Halo Concept series which even includes an eVTOL. It is a vehicle with a very particular line, which shows the vision of the American manufacturer for a luxury car, electric and equipped with autonomous driving .

Design futuristic for a two-seater car that tries to imagine how it will evolve; mobility in the future when cars really drive alone. In fact, as in all concepts of this genre, the passenger compartment is; been completely rethought. No steering wheel and pedals but an environment where passengers can spend time relaxing, perhaps watching a movie during the journey.

The American brand has decided to offer a truly special interior. We find, in fact, a maxi curved screen that will allow & agrave; to access all the functionalities; advanced (including augmented reality) which are managed by artificial intelligence. The system designed to access the vehicle is also very particular. The doors open in a traditional way but since the concept has a very low roof, it is lifted to facilitate the entry/exit of people. The seats also rotate outward when the doors are opened.

The American brand then explains that the concept car is based on the Ultium platform. Thanks to the wireless battery management system, the modules were distributed inside the car in such a way that the designers were able to optimize the interior space. No mention & egrave; been done on the powertrain. Therefore, we do not know the engine that Cadillac envisions integrating into InnerSpace.

To improve comfort, the concept car adopts specific tires developed by Goodyear for the electric cars. InnerSpace & egrave; the classic futuristic concept with no real purpose? Most likely, however, it must be remembered that General Motors, a Group of which Cadillac is a part, is focusing heavily on autonomous driving technology as it intends to market an autonomous vehicle for personal use within the mid & agrave; of the decade.

It is therefore possible that Cadillac could play an important role in this project. After all, self-driving cars are expensive to make and GM could market them through its luxury brand.
