Apple Amsterdam closed

It often happens that Apple Stores are closed, without Apple giving an explanation. Exactly one year ago, Apple Haarlem closed for a few days, probably due to a COVID outbreak and now it is Amsterdam's turn. While the shops in Haarlem and The Hague are open for repairs and collection of orders, Amsterdam will in any case be completely closed until Sunday 26 December. However, there are restrictions there: for example, the opening hours have been shortened to 17:00 and you can only go by appointment to pick up an order and a Genius Bar appointment due to the lockdown that now applies. Just walking in is not an option and it will remain so in the coming weeks. On Saturday 25 December (Christmas Day), all Apple Stores will be closed, including those in Brussels.

In Amsterdam the doors are completely locked and that also applies to some other Apple Stores worldwide. For example, Apple Lincoln Road in Miami Beach is temporarily closed and Apple Crocker Park is also closed, both due to a COVID outbreak. Previously, Apple Houston Galleria (Texas) and Apple Eton (Ohio) were locked down, not because of local regulations but because of an infection.

Apple in the Netherlands has to deal with stricter rules, just like many other non-essential stores. Repairs and collection are allowed, but not strolling through the store. If you still need something quickly, you can also look online at other stores, such as Amazon, Coolblue and MediaMarkt. Items like AirPods and iPads are often cheaper at other stores. Amac uses the same suggested retail prices as Apple, but can sometimes have products in stock that you have to wait a little longer for at the Apple Store.

Thank you, tipster!
