Tesla, mechanical bollards against the illegal occupation of Superchagers

Anyone who has an electric car knows how annoying it is to find the seat occupied for recharging from an endothermic car. A nuisance that becomes a serious problem if you have the urgency of having to recharge. In some cases there are fines for the illegal occupation of the parking spaces for recharging but this may not always be possible; enough to discourage rude motorists. A problem that does not only concern Italy but a little bit all over the world where electric is spreading.

In America, for example, this phenomenon & egrave; called & quot; ICEing & quot; and even hits Tesla Supercharger Stations . And an interesting solution to this problem comes from the company of Elon Musk. Since 2019, within its Supercharger stations in China, the company & agrave; has started installing mechanical bollards that can only be unlocked by Tesla owners.

HERE'S HOW IT WORKS

These bollards are placed at each parking space inside the Supercharger stations. A solution that is certainly effective but not very comfortable. In fact, initially, the owners of a Tesla were called to frame a QR Code with the smartphone through a specific app to unlock the bollard and then be able to park to start charging. Tesla understood the potential of these bollards and is integrating them in increasing numbers within its power supply stations in China.

At the same time, to facilitate their management, has inserted the unlocking system within its app for a few weeks now . Baster & agrave; select the column number through the app and the bollard will unlock automatically. Sure, & egrave; always required an extra step; but at least there is no need to use an additional application. (Below is a mini video showing how unblocking works)

The fact that Tesla has implemented this solution within its official app is; interesting because & eacute; it could mean that in the future this system could also arrive in other countries . The American manufacturer has not said anything about it, for the moment, but given what he is doing in China it is not; having said that it does not decide to export this solution to other markets as well.
