The subscription will cost €13.99 per month.

Viaplay from March 1 in the Netherlands

To watch Viaplay, you can use the accompanying app. At the moment it is notavailable in the Dutch App Store. If we look at the Danish version, we see that the Viaplay app has a great design. A big advantage is that there is also an Apple TV app, so you don't have to get complicated with streaming from your phone to an Apple TV, HomeKit television or Chromecast.

A selection from the (Scandinavian) range.

Viaplay's Apple TV app has a similar design to other streaming services, such as Videoland and Netflix. One difference is that Viaplay has a separate section for sports in the menu at the top. You can also rent and buy movies. It is not yet known whether this will exactly be taken over in the Netherlands. According to Viaplay's parent company, Viaplay Originals, Hollywood films and children's series will be coming. We are working on Dutch Viaplay Originals.

In Denmark, customers can also purchase a subscription via the App Store. The regular subscription costs about ’3 to €4 more in Denmark if you arrange it via the App Store. This will undoubtedly have to do with the fact that Apple wants to take part of the turnover. We do not yet know whether Viaplay is opting for the same strategy in the Netherlands. In the Netherlands, Ziggo and KPN customers can purchase a subscription through their provider. That is not the case for all streaming services in the Netherlands.
