Economics. On Monday, electricity prices will reach levels never seen before. In southern and central Sweden, prices go up to an incredible SEK 6.49 per kilowatt hour during part of the day.

– It is really exceptionally high, far much higher than we have ever had before, says Christian Holtz, electricity & shy; market & shy; analyst at the energy consulting company Merlin & amp; Metis, to Dina Pengar.
The record price means that electricity will be 28 times more expensive than at the same time last year.
The magazine Jordbruksaktuellt recommends its readers to carefully plan their electricity consumption.
“It has never been more profitable to fire with wood, wood chips, straw or pellets, so if you have that opportunity, you should take advantage of it”, the newspaper writes.
Oil power plant up and running >
At 05:00 on Monday morning, the Karlshamnsverket, which fires with oil, started again. The more than 50-year-old oil power plant was recently put on standby to be able to respond to the electricity shortage.
