Law & Right. Göran Lambertz, who was innocently detained for rape, sued the state for misconduct in Stockholm District Court. Now he has to pay the legal costs of SEK 222,000 himself.

Göran Lambertz, who was previously Chancellor of Justice and Councilor of Justice, was arrested and detained in the spring of 2021 for just over two weeks on suspicion of rape. However, the preliminary investigation was dropped for evidentiary reasons.
Lambertz then sued the state for approximately 200,000 in Stockholm District Court. He demanded compensation for the time he was detained and detained, as well as damages due to errors, negligence and misconduct that he considered to have been committed by prosecutors and police during the preliminary investigation.
The state through the Chancellor of Justice agreed to pay 18,520 kronor. to the 71-year-old in compensation for the time he has been deprived of his liberty.
The district court has now in its judgment obliged the state to pay the agreed amount to Göran Lambertz, but otherwise dismisses his action. According to the district court, no errors, omissions or misconduct were committed during the preliminary investigation.
