Abroad. Olaf Scholz, incoming Social Democrat Chancellor of Germany, wants to introduce compulsory vaccination throughout the country. It reports DW.

In an interview with Bild on Tuesday, Olaf Scholz stated that he wants to introduce the compulsory vaccination “in February or March” next year.
However, he states that he wants to let the Bundestag vote on the issue first.

At the same time, Steffen Seibert, spokesman for the outgoing Merkel government, announces that a decision on compulsory vaccination will be made “soon”.
The German Federal Medical Association BÄK also demands mandatory vaccination to put an end to “the endless loop of lockdowns”, writes DW. According to the association, the requirement should apply to “all adult citizens without medical contraindications to a vaccine”.
