– I received an email from the district court in the afternoon that he had submitted a statement of satisfaction, Ahmed's lawyer Hans Palm told SVT Nyheter Väst on Monday.
Sakariye Ahmed was sentenced by the district court on Friday. in Gothenburg to eight years in prison for the murder of police officer Andreas Danman and attempted murder of another man. The murder was committed in Biskopsgården in Gothenburg in June this year.
The job means that he can be out again in about five years, thanks to the Swedish system with two-thirds release.
Ahmed was convicted last the year for attempting to stabbed another man on a tram in Gothenburg. However, he escaped with only a year of juvenile detention for the attempted murder – and was therefore again a free man when the police murder was committed last summer.
