Domestic. A 23-year-old man who has previously played football at a professional level was charged today with the murder of his 20-year-old partner in Älta. At the time of the crime, their joint infant was in the home.

According to the indictment, the murder was committed on April 15 this year in the couple's joint home in Älta, Nacka municipality.
The accused man himself called 112 and stated that his partner had stabbed himself. Police on the spot quickly paid attention to the number of wounds on the woman and other circumstances that led to the suspicion of murder.
– In our further investigation, a focus area has been to investigate whether the plaintiff's injuries could have been self-inflicted or not. An important success factor in the investigation has been close cooperation between committed personnel in the case, such as forensic scientists, investigators and IT forensics, says Jennifer Ekblom, investigator at the police section for crimes in close relationship at police area Stockholm south, in a statement.
According to the indictment, the man killed the woman by repeatedly stabbing her with a knife.
– I mean that the man's actions were ruthless. The woman died from a large number of stab wounds that she received when he attacked her with the knife, says chamber prosecutor Ronak Råbe at Söderort's prosecutor's chamber in Stockholm.
The man was arrested on April 16 and has been in custody since April 19.
– There is good technical evidence in the form of DNA traces, blood picture analysis, damage picture and application analysis of the suspect's telephone. A crime scene investigation has also been carried out and there are also witnesses who are experts in orthopedics and memory research who will be heard in court, says Ronak Råbe.
The trial starts on December 3 and is planned to take five to six days.
