It was on August 26 that Ilmar Reepalu witnessed a violent riot on the street outside his home in the district Sofielund in Malmö.

– One of the men ran around with a stick, the other had a gun with which he fired. They were very aggressive and there was a lot of screaming, says Ilmar Reepalu to Sydsvenskan.

The former S-top took out his mobile phone to film the quarrel. Then one of the men aimed his gun at him.

The 21-year-old man also fired two loose shots at another man. He is now being prosecuted for grossly illegal threats.

– It is both frightening and unpleasant to have a weapon aimed at you when the person is five meters away from you, says Ilmar Reepalu to P4.

Ilmar Reepalu was chairman of the municipal board in Malmö between the years 1994 and 2013.
