Domestic. The Sweden Democrats are the only parliamentary party that outright says no to the government's proposal to make it possible for children up to the age of 12 to legally change gender. It reports SVT News.

Both the Christian Democrats and the Moderates state that they do not want to take a position on the issue until there is a completed bill.
“We know and understand that the issue is important for many people, not least “Transgender people who have a legal gender that they feel do not match their own gender identity. This should be weighed against the fact that the proposal seems to mean that children from the age of 12 should be able to apply for a new legal gender”, writes the Moderates in a response to SVT “Agenda”.
The Government's proposal for a “modernized gender legislation” also means that the requirements must be reduced in order to be able to carry out surgical procedures in the genitals.
